Mentorship
Click here to apply to be a mentor or mentee for our 2024-25 mentorship program!
The JSOC mentorship program is an opportunity for first and second year students to connect with upper year journalism students. It’s a great way to get to know more people in the program, as well as get advice about classes, assignments, extracurriculars, and adjusting to life at Carleton! Mentees will have the opportunity to attend editing workshops and connect with Journalism profs.
This year, we’ll be re-introducing our mentorship program for first-year students. The program will consist of six weeks’ worth of weekly sessions with an upper-year journalism student, who will be responsible for answering any questions you might have and providing any advice needed pertaining to j-school or journalism as a whole. Mentors will be paired with mentees based on common interests and goals for the mentorship program.
